    • Why is it Singapore true-born single citizens (=>35yo) not allowed to buy direct from HDB, and only from resale?

Isn't HDB rules outdated? Every Singapore true-born Citizen should be entitled to same benefits at some stage of their life, agree?

Is this so called 'based on justice and equality', and not discrimination?

      Our Pledge

      We, the citizens of Singapore,
pledge ourselves as one united people,
regardless of race, language or religion,
      to build a democratic society
      based on justice and equality
so as to achieve happiness, prosperity and
      progress for our nation.

    • As citizen of Singapore, why is it singles still have to worry about whether they can afford a basic HDB to stay in (with the inflated re-sale HDB prices)?

    • Not fair! not fair! Then what the difference between Singaporean and PR? Both can't buy new HDB flat and can only buy resale.

Only married Singaporean has privilege to buy new one.

    • For a single Singaporean, even new HDB flat is quite expensive. How to afford resales one?

    • sure... if they know what the price will be like in 5 years, minimum period before selling it, and if they have some other place to stay, and they have no plans to get married soon.

there are smarter ways bro, you buy the flat, put the name under your parents or yourself.

on 2nd thoughts, use your parent's name to buy lah.

    • "equality means you have equal responsibility to get married and have children"

Getting married and having children are individual & couple choices and it also depends on many other complex factors (biological, social, psychology, economic, happiness etc). It cannot be stated as 'RESPONSIBILITY'. We are humans and not MACHINES. From the begin of this world, who stated that it is Human's Responsibility to married & pro-create?

Where equality is concerned, citizens should be given equal benefits at certain stage of their life (by choice or not of them on whether they wanted to get married or have children), agree?

parent's name would be already used on their own flat, hence its impossible to get ur own place away from ur parents...

I know your way, but there are certain circumstances whereby it will affect the HDB Loan, and most parents have flat of their own....

Back to the topic, why must make it such that loyal single citizens must think of ways to overcome the existing inadequacy that review is long overdue?

If government want to increase population, are they going to resolved this issue first.

If government going to encourage single to get married, are they going to resolved this.

Are our government plan of this before coming with new policy..?

    • Equality...

A family staying in a house...
A person staying in a house...
      Equal meh?

Singapore got limited land space and if all singles buy a flat then singapore will have lots of people homeless...

    • then, singles pay taxes, contribute to society and all that...

which is more than can be said about a lot of parents who are irresponsible and breed like rabbits... putting more of their own types of crotch-droppings onto the earth, filling it with more maladjusted sociopaths...

some are more "equal" than others...

thats wat u think but not wat the govt has in mind..we are nth more then money making MACHINES..

jus to have fun,frm the beginning,as according to bible,God made it clear that man's purpose is to procreate..

and equality u said at certain stages of their life should have equal benefits..if we say the certain stage of a person life to be able to buy hdb is getting married, den the other person stage of live to get the same benefit of buying a hdb is after 35 lor..same equal benefit at certain stages of their lives..
