Singapore sentence 20yr old to hang replied by viciouskitty74 @ Fri, 09 Jan 2009 13:34:02 +0800

I do understand that drugs would require regulation if
legalised. However, to prevent crimes involving drug use such as
driving while under the influence, laws enforcing a minimum age to
purchase drugs as with alcohol and tobacco, making it illegal for
supplying minors with drugs and imposing extremely harsh penalties
for harming others while under the influence which would apply to
driving under the influence whether or not anyone is actually
harmed.

Even though another form of crime will increase, those crimes
are actually unlawful and should be punished as opposed to the
previous injustice of having many harmless and responsible drug
users prosecuted.

Despite what many may think, obtaining drugs even in Singapore
is extremely easy, by no means do you have to be desperate. You
wouldn't even have to associate with drug lords, just small-time
dealers at the very bottom of the chain, you can even get some from
people you don't know by just asking around in clubs.

The reduction of demand could be done through the introduction
of warning labels on legally sold drugs much like with cigarettes
and the harder drugs such as heroin could be controlled by
requiring doctor's permission for its medical use. I don't see why
we need to reduce the demand of lighter drugs such as marijuana as
it isn't as dangerous as those legal drugs sold openly such as
alcohol and tobacco.

Yes, but from a legal standpoint, or in the case of any concern
parents.

If we didnt legalised it then, and it now serve a minor
infrigement into our lifestyle, why introduce it now and we have a
whole new rules to erect and monitor?

And Singapore is popular because of the anti drug stand.
Plenty of asian folks rather send their children to Singapore then
their own country. If Singapore legalised even a minor drug,
the social problem that grew out of it eventually. Who is to clean
up?

You also have to consider that you are considering the drugs
because you are a adult and clear thinking.

What about the younger ones who will experience pressure to be
involve in a lifestyle they cannot control or be responsible
for?

Look at underage smoking, drinking......isnt those enough?

Even alcohol and ciggies is not cheap.

Where are the clowns?

LTN or _ee _ong _ge is a person obsessed with power and
control.

Outwardly, he looks like a kind and generous person while inwardly,
he is actually a false, insincere, despicable, mean and narrow-
minded person!

His existence is merely a waste of food (Lang Fei Liang Shi)!

He is the scum of the earth (Ren Zha, Bai Lei)! He is a scoundrel
(Hun Dan)! He is a misbirth (Wu Sheng)! He is the seed of evil (Nie
Zhong)!

His ancestors must have done a lot of wicked deeds while they
are alive. That explains why they have a mother f***** as
descendant!

He looks like a walking skeleton with flesh stuck onto it!

He is the scum of the earth (Ren Zha, Bai Lei)! He is a scoundrel
(Hun Dan)!He is a misbirth (Wu Sheng)! He is the seed of evil (Nie
Zhong)! His ancestors must have done a lot of wicked deeds, that
explains why they have the seed of evil (Nie Zhong)as
descendant!

KL or _athleen _ee is a person who enjoys making noises and
creating havoc. (Xin Feng Zuo Lang)!

Outwardly, she looks like a kind and considerate person while
inwardly, she is actually a false, insincere, despicable, mean and
narrow- minded person!

Her existence is merely a waste of food (Lang Fei Liang Shi)!

Her ancestors must have done a lot of wicked deeds while they
are alive. That explains why they have a potential Pro as
descendant!

Even if she were to lose her job one day, she won’t remain
unemployed for long! There is a job which is most suitable for her,
that is, being a griever (Xiao Nu)! Alternatively, she could also
consider going to Geylang to work. After all, both jobs required
the person being able to make noises!

One advice though, she is unsuitable for providing ‘special
services’, because she is likely to squash the ‘banana’!

She looks like an old Pro plying her trade!

EL or _mily _im is a person who enjoys making noises and
creating havoc. (Xin Feng Zuo Lang)!

Outwardly, she looks like a kind and considerate person while
inwardly, she is actually a false, insincere, despicable, mean and
narrow- minded person!

Her existence is merely a waste of food (Lang Fei Liang Shi)!

Her ancestors must have done a lot of wicked deeds while they
are alive. That explains why they have a witch as
descendant!

Even if she were to lose her job one day, she won’t remain
unemployed for long! There is a job which is most suitable for her,
that is, being a griever (Xiao Nu)! Alternatively, she could also
consider, becoming a witch or going to Geylang to work as a pimp
(Gui Po) or an old Pro. After all, both jobs required the person
being able to make noises!

One advice though, going for an old Pro like her is simply a waste
of time, money and energy. To make things even worse, it will make
the guy look like a very desperate man!

She looks like an old Pro plying her trade!

PL or _atrick _ee is a person who is a ‘wolf in the sheep’s
clothing’

He is the scum of the earth (Ren Zha, Bai Lei)! He is a scoundrel
(Hun Dan)!He is a misbirth (Wu Sheng)! He is the seed of evil (Nie
Zhong)! His ancestors must have done a lot of wicked deeds, that
explains why they have the seed of evil (Nie Zhong)as
descendant!

His ancestors must have done a lot of wicked deeds while they
are alive. That explains why they have a mother f***** as
descendant!

Wei Ji Wang Guo, Wei Le Nu Ren Da Zhong Guo!

While a person could spend a lifetime with the person of his/her
desire, he/she can’t spend a lifetime with a wild beast! Even if
you are both registered with ROM and applied for a HDB flat, you
should do the right thing and forfeit the deposit for the flat
rather than choosing to spend a lifetime with a wild beast!

As for the wild beast, he will no doubt suffer a double loss!

What do you call that?

Pei Le Fu Ren You Zhe Pin!

Lose the Lady and the soldiers!

I wonder why is it so difficult to find a girlfriend that fulfils
my criteria?

My criteria is very simple- not based on looks or figures but on
inner beauty!

So far, 5 have failed!

While it is true that looks and figures are considered ‘bonuses’,
they are not the decisive factors! Inner beauty is considered the
basic fundamental!

In fact, out of the 5 who failed, one of them (who go by the
initials KK or KCS and the name _elly _ong or _ong _hiew _uen) was
not bad-looking and has a figure that is not too bad either, but
unfortunately, she has an ugly heart! Her ancestors must have done
a lot of wicked deeds, that explains why they have a shameless pro
as descendant! She is cheap and shameless! Jian Huo!

It doesn’t matter whether you are driving a sports car or a saloon
car, because when you are stuck in a traffic jam, it became a
stationary car!

It doesn’t matter whether the girl has good looks and nice figure,
because when she has an ugly heart, it is an outright
failure!

Beside her, another two people were involved in this matter. They
are the two ATs.

The first one (who goes by the initials AT and the name _deline
_an) plays the role of supporter. Even if she were to lose her job
one day, she won’t remain unemployed for long! There is a job which
is most suitable for her, that is, being a griever (Xiao Nu)!
Alternatively, she could also consider going to Geylang to work.
After all, both jobs required the person being able to make noises!
Her ancestors must have done a lot of wicked deeds, that explains
why they have a 'griever' as descendant!

A guy (who goes by the initials LTW and the name _ee _ing _ei)
plays the role of supporter and instigator. He actively stir up the
sentiments of the abovementioned person (who go by the initials AT
and the name _deline _an), agitating the person to take drastic
actions, effectively using the person as a tool to achieve his own
selfish aims.He is the scum of the earth (Ren Zha, Bai Lei)! He is
a scoundrel (Hun Dan)!He is a misbirth (Wu Sheng)! He is the seed
of evil (Nie Zhong)! His ancestors must have done a lot of wicked
deeds, that explains why they have the scum of the earth (Ren Zha,
Bai Lei) as descendant!

Wei Ji Wang Guo, Wei Le Nu Ren Da Zhong Guo!

The second one (who goes by the initials AT or TKH and the name
_ndy _an or _an _im _uat) plays the role of supporter and
instigator. He actively stir up the sentiments of the
abovementioned person (who go by the initials KK and the name _elly
_ong), agitating the person to take drastic actions, effectively
using the person as a tool to achieve his own selfish aims. His
nickname includes: Hao Dai, Si Hao Dai, Gon Da Tai, Da Tou Dai, Hao
Lam, Si Hao Lam! He is the scum of the earth (Ren Zha, Bai Lei)! He
is a scoundrel (Hun Dan)!He is a misbirth (Wu Sheng)! He is the
seed of evil (Nie Zhong)! His ancestors must have done a lot of
wicked deeds, that explains why they have the seed of evil (Nie
Zhong)as descendant!

While a person could spend a lifetime with the person of his/her

What do you call that?

Pei Le Fu Ren You Zhe Pin!

Lose the Lady and the soldiers!

This coming Chinese New Year, I wonder what
these clowns are planning to do! Busying visiting graveyards and
check out prospective sites for themselves?

I have waited for ONE month! ONE ROCK SOLID MONTH!

So far, they only managed to make one failed attempt to ‘entertain’
me!

Why are these clowns so useless?

Are these clowns LTN or _ee _ong _ge, KL or _athleen _ee, EL or
_mily _im and PL or _atrick _ee still alive?

Or have they gone to sell salted duck eggs?

Perhaps the clowns were slapped until they are blurred, that
explains why they fail to ‘entertain’ me successfully within a
month!

1 month

(Oops, I did it again! I did it again! I did it again!)

OLE! OLE! OLE! OLE! OLE! OLE! OLE! OLE! OLE! OLE! OLE! OLE! OLE!
OLE! OLE! OLE!

+300

Shui Chang Chuan Gao!

As the water rises, the boat rises as well!

These clowns are really ‘No one good f***’!

I hate to say this but unfortunately it is the brutal truth!

These clowns have to justify their existence by wrecking havoc (Liu
Xia Lai Zuo Zhong)! They will have to show that it is the law of
the jungle- not the rule of law- that prevails! They will have to
prove that their existences are not a waste of food (Lang Fei Liang
Shi)!

Usually, when a state is doomed, the evil things will start to
appear!

I wonder how this statement is!

I really enjoyed being ‘entertained’ by the clowns as it is
‘intellectually stimulating’! During ordinary times, extraordinary
talent is of not much use! It is during extraordinary times that
extraordinary talent could be put to good use!

My time’s not up yet! Thus I hope that the clowns will put their
best foots forward as this will be a long drawn out process!

BRING IT ON!

(Wherever you go, whatever you do, I will be right here waiting for
you!)

"I am what I am. I undertook this task without anybody asking me.
It was an impulse. It was driven by my own convictions; what I went
through. And having undertaken the job, I had to make it work." (ST
07 Aug 2007, "Don't expect one sweet progression up to the
heights")

ACS EXE

As long as I could get my hands on vital resources, the war will go
on!
It is victory at all costs!

Singapore sentence 20yr old to hang replied by jondizzle foshizzle @ Fri, 09 Jan 2009 13:27:15 +0800

Originally posted by Kuali Baba:

Ahh but don't you realise that regulation is also part of
legislation, and that producing items that don't conform to the
regs would be criminal too? So as you as you tinker with the laws,
one form of crime decreases while another increases - driving under
the influence, counterfeit pharmaceuticals, etc.

When people commit offences or do stupid things, we also blame
the drugs because the users lose their ability to make rational
decisions whilst under the influence. I'd be amazed if someone
tried to preach the anti-drink-driving message to a tanked pubgoer.
It's this loss of judgment (one of those things that makes us
human) under the altered state that will make turning drugs
mainstream impossible.

You can obtain anything you want if you're desperate enough (as
you implied). And you need to be if you risk associations with drug
lords, the underworld and the other illegal activities they
conduct. Such unsavouriness and the resulting high prices also put
people off, as has been mentioned before.

People who try to benefit in irresponsible ways will always be a
headache whatever the regulations, so the other approach is to
reduce the demand, by setting barriers and making even that first
taste less accessible than ideal. Criminalising the trafficking and
propagation of the drug and its habit, whatever its effect on
others, is a logical step that follows.

I don't have hard facts or figures, and it's flawed, but no less
so than the alternative.

Singapore to develop new ways to get elderly citizens to wor replied by viciouskitty74 @ Fri, 09 Jan 2009 13:25:44 +0800

Sigh, and the old folks most likely are clearing their CPF, or
like one of my ah sir, he very cute.

He reached 55 and made a appointment to go down with his wife to
see what else was in his CPF.

The guy at the counter there tells him that there is about
$5000/- in his CPF.

So ah sir say ok lor, give me a cheque.

So while someone in the back room was preparing the cheque, the
counter guy keep trying to tell my ah sir, not to take out the
money lah, keep some in the cpf account lah, buy this insurance,
buy that plan lah.

Ah sir got fed up after a while and say, in his normal nice
voice to the counter guy:

"I dont need all these stuffs lah, see that (point to
wife.) I not taking the money out to feed china women,
my wife is here."

To which, the wife snorted and speak up: "$5k nia, china women
also wont be interested lah."

At the end of the day, when he relate how the counter guy shut
up about trying to sell whatever scheme to my ah sir, we
laughed. Then I jokingly tell my ah sir

"Sir, not enough to feed china women, but enough to feed me
lah. You give me that 5k feed me lor; I can even return
interest."

Originally posted by angel7030:

It is those Government Linked Companies who will take the
initiatives to employ older workers, private companies will not
employ them, cos medical is a problem too. And management also dun
like to scold ah ma and ah kong, sound like bullying old
peoples.

We are facing an aging population, no doubt about it, there are
more grey hair on the street than 10 years ago when i was in
primary 5, everywhere i turned is uncles, ah pek, ah ma and
aunties..only foreigners look young, without it population to
support, i guess singapore is doom.

that's why gah-men now kept emphasizing on ageing
population..implementation of plans to take care of this problem by
delaying retirement age..increasing the min. amt to be saved in CPF
a/c, encouraging the elderies to work in order to support
themselves etc..

and, their on-going campaign to encourage S'poreans to give
birth to more babies with the Baby bonus bait, childcare leave
etc..so that when these batch of babies grow up, the burden of
taking care of the elderies will fall on them...

and, so that the gah-men will be rid of ageing population
problem =D

bt seriously..not all employers will want to hire the
elderies..like what u said..only Govt-Linked companies or
subsidiaries..but what kind of jobs can they offer? Pantry jobs are
better..the rest will be like cleaner..imagine how tough it is for
an eldery to bend down his backbone to scrub the floor, slippery
floor & elderies have the tendancy to fall down easily..

Conclusion : Saying is easier than Doing

However, after the SARS scare, folks on MC is required to stay

Dont go to Aus replied by Rhonda @ Fri, 09 Jan 2009 12:15:03 +0800

Even experienced professionals like Doctors, Judges, and
Registered Nurses have to go through the rigorous processes
involved in getting PR. One Migration Agent from Singapore
even told me how this Singapore Judge who has written countless
legal books and is highly regarded in the Singapore Judiciary had
to go through the IELTS exam as well when he decided to retire in
Australia! No one is exempted from the at times horrible
rules and ridiculous regulations of the Immigration Dept
here. But you know what... nobody here forces people to
apply. If you choose to apply, you'll just have to meet their
requirements.

I know of lots of Singaporeans who faced the same angst you have
when we first migrated here. But we have slowly, in our own
ways, learnt to deal with it. The thing is, if you choose to
visit someone's house and stay there, you don't go around tearing
their curtains down and re-decorating their place. Sure
initially you will fret and complain and whinge, but in the end,
what matters is that you roll up your sleeves, have dinner
together, and then help wash the plates as well. We do our
part to integrate. It's not a perfect place to be - I don't
think Utopia exists anywhere here on earth. But since we have
chosen to come, we make-do with whatever we have, and try to make
the best of it. If we really cannot tolerate things here, no
one is stopping us from packing up and going.

So the issue is, unlike back in Singapore where you have the
rights of citizenship and can kpkb, over here, you can kpkb all you
want and no one will really bother to listen. PR is a
privilege and the country has the right to issue or refuse your
application for whatever reason, reasonable or otherwise. The
entitlement mentality that is nurtured in Singapore soil won't hold
here.

Say, what do you think you have to offer to Australia that they
die-die HAVE to issue you a PR without you having to lift a finger
anyways?! I have paid an astronomical amount in taxes since
I've arrived here, and I'm a professional with years of experience
under my belt and yet, the onus still remains on them if they will
issue me with a PR or not because very simply put, I'm not on home
soil so I'm subject to their laws.

singapore has shortage of workers in the lower end of the
working sector, so need to import foreigners. But again , there is
no discrimination in singapore, for hiring them. Unlike Aus, which
ask for PR.
